2012 Beach Clean – up

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

Team Parks Inc. held their 2nd annual beach clean up Friday, April 6. Employees gathered to remove trash from local area beaches. Team Parks began the beach clean up at the Stuart Beach and covered several miles of beach in Martin County. They collected approximately 200lbs of trash consisting of plastic, metal, and miscellaneous debris, including a large section of a kayak. Team Parks is a General Contractor located in Stuart since 1977, specializing in commercial, residential and green construction.

Ryan Strom, Vice President of Team Parks Inc. explains, "it is important to facilitate company activities like this. We consider ourselves progressive in terms of green construction knowledge and experience, and beach cleanups represent one small way to reinforce sustainability and care for our local environment.”

The removal of trash and plastics from the beaches is a highly important task due to their non-biodegradable properties. Project manager Brett Zurich notes, "The environment and our community are very important to us. We all live in the area, and frequently enjoy our beaches, waterways, and the many outdoor recreational amenities provided by this area. It’s the least we can do.”

The beach clean up was a great success and Team Parks hopes to organize another in the near future.
